Who will be managing the three portfolios?
The day to day management of the three investment portfolios has been passed to three investment groups who act as investment advisers. All three are experts in their respective fields. The enclosed portfolio information provides more details on the investment teams that have been appointed. Needless to say, these have been selected by ABS following research into each group’s capabilities and their skills set. All three investment teams have proven and extensive experience.
More importantly, investors can feel confident their portfolios are being made to work as hard as possible by truly independent investment managers that are completely unconnected to ABS. Our role is limited to ensuring the external investment managers deliver the performance and risk profile required of them. ABS will not be involved in any portfolio investment management decisions, but by monitoring performance closely, will leave the day to day investment decisions in the hands of the proven teams, but in effect adding an additional tier of portfolio and investment monitoring.
So why invest in Sentinel and not in one of the many other OEICs available in the market place? Where the Sentinel Fund differs from other OEICs available is in what happens when something goes wrong. Should there be a period of unacceptable performance, or a change of investment manager within the group appointed to manage a portfolio, ABS is able to serve notice on the appointed investment adviser and hold a beauty parade to appoint a new group as investment adviser to the portfolio in question. And all this can be achieved without investors being asked to sell their holdings and reinvest in another fund or portfolio. Big investor benefits for just £3000!
